[xubuntu-users] googleearth-package

by leegoldon 2009-06-28T00:59:04+00:00
With synaptic i installed something called the googleearth-package. It's
supposed to help me installe google earth(?) It installed but i have no
idea were it installed to on my system.
I have never been able to get google earth to work on Xubuntu - there's
a bug were it seemingly intalls OK and starts but cuts out after a few
seconds. I've previously tried all the fixes but nothing has ever
worked. It's been about a year so i'd like to try again. But as i said
above I can not get a "handle" on the synaptic googleearth-package.
Where did it install too?
Thanks.

Hi, you might find this page useful:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/GoogleEarth (Yep, the situation could be
better, but using Medibuntu is not that difficult I suppose)

I agree. All you need to do is add their repository to your list and
let apt-get or synaptic do the rest. At least that worked for me and I
ended up with ver 4.3. True, it's not ver 5 but not too bad.
