ok i would like to thank everyone for their suggestions. it seems the
reason that my mother was having problems with her college site was
fixed by getting rid of the puppy linux off-shoot she was using and
installing ubuntu. so now there is no problem that needs to be fixed.
she can access the site with out any problem.
