Several folk in my office use mysql-query-browser, so unless it *has* to
go, I'd vote to keep it.

I wonder what are your motivations too!...
What's the problem? Not maintained? No new version since 5.0, 3 years ago?
I agree that it needs some improvements or that it could be replaced by
a better tool.
But what do you propose as a replacement?
GSQL ( http://code.google.com/p/gsql/ ) could be a candidate soon, but I
don't think it is ready right now...

Here's a source RPM for Mandriva that I made last year, if you wanna
play with it:
http://davy.defaud.free.fr/pub/gsql-0.2.1-1mdv2010.0.src.rpm
There are also some old RPMs for x86_64, if you are lazy, in
http://davy.defaud.free.fr/pub/
I've sent a French translation to the author, but it hasn't been
committed to the SVN yet.
Nothing new since a year though...

OK. The general wish seems to be to keep it. No support or development from=
=20
upstream though.
mysql-gui-tools is now free for adoption so is mysql-workbench-oss.

For MySQL and PostgreSQL you can use tora[1], it's very powerful (very
similar to TOAD for windows) and already available in the repositories
:)

Thank you, it seems interesting and very powerfull, even if I had some
troubles:
- it crashes with default options (SSL + compression enabled) the first
time (seems OK now, though)
- there is no i18n at all
- I would have preferred a native GTK GUI instead of Qt (that's not so
important anyway ;-)).

Can you install the debug package, remove the .tora_cache dir and try
again to see if we can get a stacktrace ?

I'll ask upstream about this.

Done. I send you the backtrace in private, as this is out of topic.
